OVERCOMING GIANT (WATCH YOUR MOUTH SERIES)
Text: | Revelation 12:11 |
“And they overcame by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimonies and they loved not their lives unto the death”. (KJV)
Speed is irrelevant when you are on a wrong road. Driving fast will do nothing for you if you are on a wrong road, because no matter how fast you go, you will never get to your destination. When you are on the wrong side of life, the wisest thing to do is to use the steering wheel of your car and turn. Don’t continue to drive on a wrong road, expecting to arrive well. Turn yourself! And the instrument of turning your life and your entire destiny is the instrument of your tongue. We are dealing with the power of the tongue. We are dealing with watching our mouths.
Talk according to the word of God! Revelation 12:11 says to us: “And they overcame by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimonies (utterance). It doesn’t work if you plead the blood of Jesus, and there is no change in the word of your testimony. If it were going to work, the Holy Spirit would not allow this scripture to be.
Do you have a giant to overcome? The man that is not fighting a giant does not exist anywhere on the face of this earth! Yours can be a financial giant. Another person’s might be a health situation. Another person’s giant might be marital issues. Your giant could be your children. But let me tell you; if one person can overcome his giant, everybody else CAN overcome their own giants. And you will overcome your giants, in the name of Jesus!
It is not an error that you are contacting this message; But let me tell you, it will be a shame if after contacting this message, you collapse before your giant. It will be a shame because you will not say God did not visit you. He is visiting you now. It is because of you he gave me this message to pass unto you, to show you the strategy of how you will come out without the smoke of the fire on your body.
God says that to overcome is by the Blood of the Lamb; and not just the Blood but also by the word of our testimony; that is, the utterance of our mouth. You don’t do well if you don’t talk right. You are not talking right until you are talking according to the Word of God. The Word of the living God is our standard of utterance. God wants us to put His words in our hearts so it can flow through our mouths. The bible says the word of God is a two-edged sword. It is quick and powerful! It divides in sunder every intent of the evil one. (Hebrews 4:12)
The bible says man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). The Word of the Lord in your heart is life-giving and that is what you should be speaking to turn around your situation. Glory be to God!
You may be facing an impossible financial situation but don’t give your voice to it. You say: ‘Will I not be telling lies if I don’t say what I am going through by saying something directly opposite it? No! The word of God is truth and when you are saying what the Word of God says, you are telling the truth. The circumstances of a situation that is threatening your life’s destiny is a lie from the pit of hell.
The bible says God called the things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). And this becomes your lifestyle as a serious, overcoming believer. This is what makes Satan fear you. Why? ‘For they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony’. Do not use what the enemy is doing to measure the standard of your progress, but use what the Word of God says.
In the book of 1 Timothy 6:12, Paul was saying to Timothy,
‘Fight the good fight of faith. “Lay hold on eternal life where also thou art already called and hath professed a good profession and many witnesses”.
What is the good fight of faith? The good fight of faith is to lay hold on the inheritance of eternal life. In other words, make sure you don’t end up in hell.
Are You professing a good profession? To profess a good profession is to confess a good confession and make good declarations from your mouth, even when you are challenged. To be challenged does not make you unspiritual but it is unscriptural to be defeated. Profess a good profession! That’s how our forefathers in the faith made it – standing by the truth, speaking the truth, confessing the truth. People tell lies everywhere, anyhow and that is why we pray and pray and nothing happens.
What is wrong with the Church today?! We are full of lies. We tell our pastors lies. If it were in the early Church, you would be dead. That’s what Ananias and Sapphirah did. They didn’t commit adultery. They came to Church to lie! And they lied and they died. These days, people make their words watery. No fear of God anymore, thinking that our actions have no implications! You cannot use your mouth to talk trash all week and then raise the dead with it on Sunday. No! We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the words of our testimonies. Do you expect a business you have spoken negatively of all week to respond to you when critical times come? No! Not when you have already buried that business with your mouth!
Let us learn to profess good profession. Say good things. Say things from your mouth that God can use to defeat your enemies. Don’t let your words empower your enemies. Many of us are making the devil a hero everyday by the way we sing his praise. We talk more about what the devil is doing than we talk about what God is doing. You will use your mouth well!
The bible says the mouth of the upright will deliver them. “They overcome by the word of their testimony”!
Your mouth will deliver you from shame and from any challenge! Don’t let your words be wicked against your destiny. Don’t let your words be wicked against your children. Don’t let your words be wicked against your household. Don’t set fire on your field. Why? Because the tongue is a world of fire. Don’t let it spark because if it does, you will be the loser. Don’t get over excited and then start putting fire everywhere. No!
Talking about how our patriarchs of Hebrews 11 made it;
2 Corinthians 4:13 says:
“We having the same spirit of faith according as it written; I believed and therefore have I spoken. We also believed and therefore we speak”.
We have the same spirit of faith; not a different spirit of faith, but the same spirit of Abraham. Even though Abraham’s body was dead, he did not talk about the deadness of his body (Romans 4:19). He kept on confessing the promises of God because he believed that He who made the promise, is able to keep it. Therefore, he staggered not in unbelief.
The patriarchs believed and they spoke. The bible says, so also you and I, we also believe today and we should speak what we believe. Believe with your heart and declare what you believe with your mouth. Whatever you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth, that is what you will have. Praise God!
Now, you must know that the battle of life is a battle of words. When two nations want to fight a war, they don’t begin with tanks; they begin with words. Every battle of life is a battle of words.
In 1 Samuel 17, you will find the mother and father of all battles. This is the battle between David and Goliath. Goliath was the champion warrior of the Philistines. He learnt to be pillar of war from his youth. The size of Goliath alone messed up the army of Israel. He was well equipped. Goliath will come day after day for 40 solid days, to yell and thunder at Israel. He kept on doing this until a teenager called David came. David, a mere lad that knows how to work with sheep in the forest was called by Jesse, his father, to run an errand to his brothers who were at the war front. In the end, David won that war for Israel by talking bold and boasting in the name of the Lord God of Israel!
Learn to talk like God talks; and please note this: when you start talking well, don’t expect everyone to begin to clap for you. You better get ready because they will think you are simply crazy and thinking too much of yourself. They will think you are bragging too much.
The army of Israel defeated themselves with their words to themselves. Their words drained their courage. One soldier had said to David: ‘Can’t you hear the voice of that man”? He is the one mesmerizing all of us. See how tall he is! Do you hear his voice? Since he started speaking over a month ago, we have not been the same. We have not had peace. We don’t know what to do about this!” (paraphrased).
But David said, “I will take him down”! Today I am going to separate his neck from his body. I will feed his flesh to the birds of the air”. Let not your heart fail you! Who is this uncircumcised philistine that he would defile the army of God?”
Do you know what David was saying by calling Goliath an uncircumcised philistine? He was just saying that Goliath has no Convenant with God. He was saying that, God is not on Goliath’s side and if Goliath has no Convenant with God, he cannot defeat the Convenant children of God!
Hear me: you will not be the one to dress and exalt your mountain! You will despise every challenge! You will despise every reproach and giant that comes upon your life and that giant will fall. Let me ask a few questions here. Does the sickness in your body have a Convenant with God? If not, and you are sure, then that sickness cannot kill you! Does poverty and lack have a Convenant with God against you? If not, you cannot die in poverty! Does failure have a Convenant with God? No! Then all these things that I mention to you are all UNCIRCUMCIZED and they cannot defeat a convenant-child of God!
Let me ask you, has God done anything in your life before? That God has not changed! He is the God that changeth not! The bible says; “He is the same today, yesterday and forever! Whatever he did before, He will do it again! When is He going to do it? We overcome by the word of our testimony! Your life will begin to turn right when your utterance turns right.
You are talking with anger and you think that would help you. No! It will suffocate you. It will burn you up. It would deny you of a joyful life. Talk in grace. Be in charge. You are a king. You are a priest. Talk like royalty. Talk bold and be authoritative. Talk like a believer. You are not of the world. Don’t talk like them. Don’t operate like them. No! You go God’s ways that are higher than man’s ways. That’s how we win our battles.
Times of challenge are very critical to your destiny. Don’t talk anyhow at those times. If you don’t know what to talk, keep quiet. Never do anything in fear. Never make any decision in fear. Faith and fear are never walking on the same line. There is so much you can overcome with your words. Psalm 91 says a thousand will fall by your right, ten thousand by your left, but it will not come near you! No plague will come near your dwelling place! Commit to talking right! Let the word of your testimony be the word of Truth! God Almighty is on your side, child of the living God!! Glory to God!
